Pro-Watch NT

Based on an extensive study of user needs and the security challenges facing today's business environments, Northern Computers has developed a system which is truly revolutionary in its capabilities.

That system is Pro-Watch NT - the industry's most powerful, yet simple-to-operate access control and alarm monitoring system - designed to manage the vast security needs of large proprietary corporations.

Until now, large corporations, with multiple remote sites worldwide, have had no choice other than to undertake the mammoth task of finding several suppliers to manage their security needs. To mention but a few, the more common problems that result are: installation difficulties, compatibility issues, and perhaps the biggest problem of all - service back-up.

The Engineered Systems Group is a division of Northern Computers, comprised of expert security consultants whose mission is to assist companies with designing and developing total security solutions.

Key features of Pro-Watch NT include: LAN/WAN Ethernet connections using standard TCP/IP protocol, alarm monitoring, video imaging and badging, and CCTV switching.

Powerful
Pro-Watch NT runs on a Microsoft NT platform using Microsoft SQL Server as the database engine. This provides a robust, multipurpose network OS that offers dependable file and print services, while producing the architecture to run powerful client/server applications efficiently across multiple environments. NT is designed to meet the most demanding requirements of today's business computing world, and as such, the Windows NT server is the only network OS that is certified by the U.S. government.

Easy to use
Pro-Watch NT is fully compliant with the Microsoft graphical user interface standards, with the look and feel of the software being that of a standard windows application. An incredible 70% of computer users are familiar with this user-friendly interface, so it has the great advantage of not intimidating new users and being very simple for experienced users. The Windows NT server is also the easiest network OS to set up, manage, and use.

Integrated
Pro-Watch NT runs as a Microsoft® BackOffice(TM) certified background service of Windows NT, not just an application on top of the NT operating system - unlike the majority of of NT access control systems on the market. It is capable of running with larger memory resources than other Windows operating systems, as it is a true 32-bit OS.

Stable
The NT operating system is mission critical. It is stable enough to handle critical operatiosn within a company as it makes the security function as a whole crash-proof. No more worrying about security breaches or inadvertantly locking employees out.

Completely integrated badging interface
All the features of the badge maintennace system are integrated and accessible from the other features of the security access system. Cardholders can now be issued multiple cards, each being uniquely defined. Based on issue and expiration date, automatic activation/deactivation of cards may be set within the system. Clearance codes may be assigned to keycards so that individual keycards may be customized for badgeholders.

Multiple database partitioning
Pro-Watch NT may be configured so that information stored in a particular database may be partitioned, and access restricted according to user ID. For example, if a user assigned certain alarm points, information may be partitioned so that the user can only access information relating to the alarm points within their responsibility. This restricts access to specific information, but not to functions the operator uses.

Sophisticated class / user scheme by password
Pro-Watch NT offers the system administrator many more options for levels of user access. Commands are no longer of the "all or nothing" variety. Access may now be defined by both class of user and/or machine, giving you tighter security over proprietary information.

Alarm management
Pro-Watch NT allows you to direct certain alarms to specific operators or workstations, based on alarm type. Alarms differ in type according to the priority by which they need to be addressed and the response they require. The system administrator can assign alarms a "forced note" condition, which requires the operator to enter custom text or choose a pre-defined response code indicating what action was taken. alarm screens are fully customizable to suit your needs.
